There is a world of difference between the experiences of "happiness" and "joy." And I thank God for both. There is that fleeting, momentary glow that happiness brings me. And, better yet, there is the everlasting presence of joy that abides in me, no matter what obstacle seems to temporarily obscure my path.

I pause from the busyness of the day to reflect on the happy moments of my life—a kind word from a friend, the companionship of family, the fragrance of a rose, the beauty of a sunset. Then I center myself in the sheer joy of knowing that Christ lives in and through me, now and always.

I am one with the Creator of the heavens and Earth, and all that inhabits therein. In this sacred union, my joy abides.
